What does this mean?
We are a welcoming, caring community
We gather at the friendly church at the bend in the road to celebrate God's love for us! We strive to welcome our neighbor, the stranger, the outcast, all who have ears to hear, and who seek the good news! We welcome YOU to this place.
We gather to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is Lord. He died on the cross to claim the victory over sin and death, and was raised up to new life, so that we might claim his victory as our victory.
We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through:
Communion - we believe that Jesus is present in the meal that we share, and in receiving this gift, we receive forgiveness of sins and power to live as children of God. Communion is celebrated every Sunday at alternating services in the morning, every service at night.
Baptism - we believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. As baptism is a gift of God's grace, there is no one too young or too old to receive this gift. Baptisms are celebrated during the regular worship services.
Preaching - through the spoken word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed every Sunday
Music - Adult Choirs for morning services, Handbell Choir, Youth Choirs, and Music Leadership Team for Sunday Nights
We gather to learn God's will
Forgiven and loved by God, we seek to do God's will in the world today. What is God calling me to do? What is God calling me to be? We believe education is vital to the life of a Christian, for through it, we learn more about God's love, forgiveness, and grace. The more we learn, the more equipped are we to share the message with others.
We seek to learn through:
Sunday School and Adult Forum opportunities every week at 9:15am
Thursday Bible Studies (10 am and 7:30 pm)
Catechism program for 6th, 7th and 8th graders
LYO (Lutheran Youth Organization) high school opportunities for study, worship, fellowship and service
Youth Events (2nd Sundays after Late Service) - for youth K - 12.
WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) - Circles for study and fellowship
Men's Breakfast Group (2nd Saturdays at 8 am)
We gather to minister to ALL with God's love.
God is love. We love because God first loved us. In response to God's love for us, we share God's love in word and deed. We seek to minister to all through outreach opportunities for service.
